HAZRAT SHAH MOHAMMED SAEID SUFI SAJJADA NASHEEN SUFI SAHIB BADSHA PEER DARBAR

Kenville/Riverside, Durban

All praises are due to the Almighty Allah, the Beneficent, The Merciful; Master of the Worlds… and salutations to His Beloved Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh). Our thanks also to our spiritual elders who have always been our inspiration.

It is with great pride that I send you best wishes for a highly successful commemoration of that auspicious occasion – the arrival in this land of that great muballigh of Islam, Hazrat Sufi Sahib (r.a.), a hundred years ago. The Habibia Sufi Institution of Cape Town, has played a significant role in the development of the Muslim Community in Cape Town and the two individuals who were most instrumental in this regard were Hazrat Shah Maulana Abd al-Latif (r.a.)  and his brother-in-law Sufi Sahib (r.a.).

It likewise gives me great joy to convey my heartfelt congratulations to the Habibia Sufi Darbar in Cape Town for their recently-constructed Islamic center. This center promises to serve a long-sensed need in the community and I applaud the leadership and foresight displayed by Hazrat Shah Imam Abd al-Latif Parker and Maulana Shah Ghulam Qutbodien Kagee as well as the sincerity and devotion of many others who assisted in bringing this magnificent project to fruition.

Our country, which has recently attained its freedom from the repressive laws of apartheid (if not from the terrible effects of that philosophy), is in dire need of spiritual and moral guidance so that we can implement the true concept of democracy. We hope that the resplendent edifice of Habibia Sufi Masjid will contribute bountifully towards this end and forge a greater understanding among both Muslims in particular and South Africans in general.
