Al-Imam Al-Hafidh Jalaluddeen As-Suyuti RA, one of the greatest scholars of Islam says in Al-Hawi Lil Fatawa: “To commemorate the Mawlid, which is basically gathering people together, reciting parts of the Qu'ran, narrating stories about the Prophet's birth and the signs that accompanied it, then serving food, and afterwards, departing, is one of the good innovations; and the one who practices it gets rewarded, because it involves venerating the status of the Prophet and expressing joy at his honourable birth.”

He was born in 1912, and was the youngest son of Hazrath Ahmed Qadi Siddiqui and Kulsoom. His mother Kulsoom was one of the seven sisters of Hazrath Shah Moulana Abdul-Latief Qadi Siddiqui (R.A.).

He received his education at the Habibia Soofie Madrassa, Doornhoogte, Cape Town. He was given the administration and control of the khanqah at the age of 24. In 1936, he married Khurshid Bi, the daughter of his maternal uncle, Hazrath Shah Mohammed Yusuf Habibi.
